In the Eastman Exhibit Area: Metamorphosis

Visit the new exhibit in the Eastman Exhibit Area on the second floor of Seymour Library: Metamorphosis: the transformation of medieval manuscripts into printed books. Some of Seymour Library’s finest examples
of early printed books and pre-Gutenberg manuscript pages are gathered in this exhibit to illustrate the textual and physical evolution of the written word from hand-copied manuscripts to mass-produced commodities. The exhibit includes the library’s earliest printed book, three early editions of Euclid’s Elements, and two volumes from the press of pioneering printer Aldus Manutius.
