This look back at the history of the study of art at Knox College celebrates the opening of Knox’s new Whitcomb Art Center this winter. The photograph is from the Fall of 1964 when sculpture was first offered as a studio art course at Knox.
In photographs, documents, and works of art by Knox faculty and students, “A Long Perspective” links the origins of art instruction in the 1870s to today’s art department offering majors and minors in art and art history and a minor in design. The exhibit will be on view in Seymour Library’s Eastman Exhibit area (on the second floor) through the winter term.
